Armin

Hofmann

Booklet dedicated to the Pioneer of Swiss design, Armin Hoffman.

Design Hero

Armin Hoffmann throughout his life had a huge impact in the word of design. This booklet was created to honor Armin’s life and Design work as an AIGA Medalist.

For the style I used Armin’s past work as inspiration to be able to showcase the style of design that Garmin would often work in.

Process

I first built a gallery of Hoffmann’s work to get an idea of his design style and how I could use it for my booklet! I noticed shape usage and a big emphasis on Swiss style grids!

I then started sketching ideas and started deciding which shapes, graphics and typographical layouts would work best for this project!

I moved on to create my first digital layout where I learned alot about body text and ensuring llegibility!

I also learnt to be cautious about margins, Although Swiss style gets very close to margins, considering we were creating booklets we had to be very cautious about margins!
